The story begins with our founder, Oleg Opalnyk—a Ukrainian-American who discovered his passion for construction while working alongside his father in Ukraine. Later, he moved to Moscow and sharpened his skills with a local contractor. In 2013 Oleg founded his own company here in the U.S. Today OPO Custom employs a team of 12 full-time builders.
But Oleg brings more than construction expertise. He is also a professionally trained chef, holding a degree in restaurant and hotel management from the Culinary and Hospitality Institute of Chicago. His dual background—craftsmanship and refined taste—shapes how we design, build and finish homes.
Our brand merges European craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities. From contemporary new builds to historic restorations, we bring thoughtful design and skilled execution together so your home reflects your lifestyle and setting.

Andrii O. serves as Project Manager. With a business degree from Ukraine and years of hands-on building experience, he guides each project from start to finish, trains our newer team members and focuses on the finishing details that set OPO homes apart. Outside work he enjoys outdoor activities, fitness and family time.
Tracy O. holds our administrative backbone together. With a CPA and a BSBA in accounting she handles contracts, schedules, finance and even our short-term rental properties. Her organizational skills and positive mindset help keep projects on track and clients informed.
Our full team of builders includes specialists in tiling, framing, carpentry, concrete work and finishing. We train new hires on all aspects of building projects so that every trade meets our standard of excellence.
